Wapping Taekwondo @ South East Championships - 24 October 2009
Once again Wapping Club has experienced competition success. The South East Championships took place on the 24th October and the hard work of the club was rewarded with nine medals in events ranging from destruction to team patterns.
The number of Wapping competitors was higher than ever and with a team of enthusiastic supporters and hours of dedicated training, success was almost inevitable. In addition to the high number of medals won, the achievements of the club were further highlighted by the number of club members officiating at the competition. Three of the club's black belt members played a big part in the success of the Championships through directing competitors, scoring patterns and umpiring sparring.
Hopefully the club's winning streak will continue at the British Championships taking place in Cardiff on the 22nd November.
The results were as follows:
Helen Campbell
Silver - Ladies black belt patterns
Silver - Ladies black belt lightweight sparring
Nick Moore

Wapping Taekwondo @ Scottish Championships - September 2009
Wapping Taekwondo club members returned with success at the TAGB Scottish championships on 5th September 2009 in Wishaw.
On Friday 4th September 2009 we went up to Glasgow, some of us novices in the world of competition, but luckily we also had the support of experienced members. Spending a few hours on the train gave us enough time to get more excited, discuss the game plan and prepare us for what was going to happen on Saturday. Despite an early Saturday morning start - after arriving late in Glasgow - all of us were prepared to give their best in either Pattern or Sparring competition or even both.
The results were remarkable, none of us returned without a medal and a total of 9 medals speaks for itself. Well done everybody - we hope to see even more members joining up for the South Eastern Championships on the 24th October.
